Mariah Carey lived up to her sometimes loopy reputation at the Palm Springs International Film Festival awards gala as the teetering diva gave a long, rambling acceptance speech after being named Breakthrough Actress for her performance in “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire.”

Have you seen Avatar yet? I know a lot of people have it’s grossed over 1 Billion worldwide. What did you think? I’d like to know. I consider myself to be a somewhat of a movie buff. I saw it and I liked it but it was in IMAX and I sat too close. I plan on seeing it again, maybe not in IMAX but in Dolby 3D. For those that haven’t seen it and want to an IMAX theater, be sure you get there early (very early). I learned my lesson. The IMAX seating is limited; it’s not like a regular sized theater even though the screens are huge.

I’m not going to give a review or anything like that. I’m not a critic; there are plenty of reviews etc. out there for you to look at. I liked it and it’s been getting good reviews, but it is a different movie. The special effects are on point but I want to get a good look at the 3D to see if really makes that big of a difference.
